Currently Carson Elementary does not have any information posted on our school website regarding a cell phone policy. Teaching kindergarten students, I do not have a problem or issue at all with cell phone usage in my classroom. I have seen students at my school walking around with their cell phones after school, so I know they are present on campus. I feel it is okay for students to have cell phones at school for emergency usage or contacting their parents, etc. I also feel if students have their cell phones present at school both the student and their parents should have to sign some type of code of conduct form to ensure that student is only using their cell phone in an appropriate way. Cell phones are becoming a part of our students every day lives and rather than banning phones schools should hold students accountable for using them in appopriate ways.
